How To Change MT5 Chart Properties
In this video, we will show you how to control the chart settings on the MetaTrader 5 platform.
When you open the trading platform for the first time, you will see this default window.
The price movement appears in the form of bar charts, and you can change them to Japanese candlesticks or line charts, with Japanese candlesticks being the most used among traders by clicking on that icon.
You can jump to the end of the chart by clicking on that icon or add extra space at the end of the chart by clicking here.
You can zoom in and out on the chart by clicking here.
Click on the Crosshair tool, which helps you identify the price level on a specific date as shown on the screen. Right-click on the chart and choose 'Properties' to control the chart properties.
A window with chart settings will appear:
- The first field is for chart types (Bar Chart, Candlestick, or Line Chart).
- The second field contains 'Chart on Foreground' to adjust whether the chart is above or below technical analysis tools on the chart.
- 'ChartShift' adds empty space at the end of the chart.
- 'Chart auto Scroll' always moves to the end of the chart.
- The third field is 'Scale' to control the measurement of the chart.
In the 'show' field, you can control the properties you want to display on the chart, such as showing the open price, the high, the low and the close prices of the candlestick according to the current timeframe.
In the 'colors' field, you can control the colors of the chart, such as the background color of the chart and the colors of the bullish or bearish candles.
You can use some drawings on the chart that help you predict the price movement through the toolbar, such as drawing resistance and support levels and trend lines.
You can erase the drawing from the chart by right-clicking, choosing the object list, selecting the drawing you want to erase, and click delete.
You can save the chart settings you have chosen by right-clicking and choosing 'Template' and then 'Save Template'.
Later, you can load the template you saved to apply the properties you have saved to any chart.
Pointing to the candle on the chart shows you the timing of the candle, the open price, the high, the low, and close prices at the bottom of the screen.
You can navigate between the trading tools you have selected by clicking on them as follows.
You can show the trading window with one click by right-clicking on the chart and choosing 'One-click trading', which allows you to trade the tools available with OW Markets with one click.
All you have to do is to choose the Lot size and click on Buy or Sell.
